I installed on an older door with panels, where one part of the door is thicker than the other and the cat door spanned both parts. [Note: the instructions do not cover this.] To do this, I needed to purchase slightly longer screws (#10 - 1.5 inch) because the screws included weren't long enough. Also, weather stripping is required over the part of the cat door connected to the thinner section of my door panel. Finally, a power jig saw is a must have (especially for thicker solid doors) and a 1 inch drill bit is helpful for drilling the starter hole.;Steve · Review provided by Chewy.comAll Reviews
